Return Policy

Last updated October 2026. This policy should be read together with our Terms & Conditions.

All sales are final

Deals4Africa is an auction platform. Because bids are binding offers and lots are sold to the highest bidder, all sales are final. Lots are sold "voetstoots" (as-is, where-is), and we do not accept returns or offer refunds for change of mind, buyer's remorse, or because an item did not meet a personal expectation.

Inspect before you bid

Each lot includes a description, condition note and photographs. Please review these carefully, and inspect a lot in person where viewing is offered, before placing a bid. By bidding you confirm you are satisfied with the lot as described.

Materially not as described

The limited exception to the "all sales final" rule is where a lot is materially not as described — for example, a fundamental error in the description that a reasonable buyer could not have identified from the listing. This does not cover minor variations, wear consistent with the stated condition, or details visible in the photographs.

How to raise a claim

If you believe a lot is materially not as described, contact us within 3 (three) days of collection, before using or altering the item, with your invoice number, the lot number and clear photographs showing the issue. We will review each claim on its merits.

Resolution

Where a claim is upheld, we will work with you and the seller on a fair resolution, which may include a refund of the amount paid for that lot on its return in the same condition. Any buyer's premium, fees and collection or transport costs are handled in line with our Terms and Conditions.

Damage after collection

Risk in a lot passes to you at collection. Damage that occurs during loading, transport or after collection is not covered by this policy, and is the buyer's responsibility.

Non-payment

Failing to pay for or collect a won lot is not a return. Unpaid lots are handled under the default provisions of our Terms and Conditions and may be cancelled, re-listed, and result in account suspension.
